The Smart Medical University in cooperation with national medical universities will hold the first term of Artificial Intelligence Summer Schools in Medical Sciences.

 

At the opening of the first term of Artificial Intelligence Summer School in the country, Dr. Arash Khojasteh, chancellor of Smart Medical University, stated: “In the not too distant future, medical sciences will undergo many changes, which is inevitable. Right now medicine is person-centered and this person will be faced with a substantial amount of information. Smart medicine and machine learning will play an essential role in medicine from now on. By using gathered data, and reducing medical errors we can play a constructive role in reducing the cost of treatment and medical insurance.”

The chancellor of Smart Medical University continued: “A smart medical system is able to predict possible diseases by using the data gathered from patients and provide early prevention and treatment. After the Corona pandemic, this university has put forward its new plans in accordance to promoting public health by utilizing advanced digital systems. We hope that the public health data will be made intelligent and the health of the society will be enhanced.”

 

Dr. Ghasemi, a faculty member of the artificial intelligence department of the Smart Medical University, explained the purpose of holding these schools: “The Smart Medical University, as a representative of the AIMS program, will hold the first International Congress of Artificial Intelligence in December 2022 in Kish Island. The purpose of holding this congress and Artificial Intelligence schools are identifying and investing in active researchers and students and building networks in this field to promote interdisciplinary research”. She added: “The first Artificial Intelligence program will be held with a total of 11 schools in cooperation with the Medical University and Sharif University of Technology. In fact, our main aim is active training in this area and launching practical projects.”

 

Dr. Kadkhodaei, the secretary of the Artificial Intelligence Excellence Committee, said: “The country's plan in the field of Artificial Intelligence, in addition to strengthening medical and health services and education and training of elites, is to promote the country at the global level and achieve international collaboration.”

It should be mentioned that the series of 10 summer schools of Artificial Intelligence in Medical sciences will be held virtually, from July 25th to August 22nd, with the participation of more than 400 students, professors and Artificial Intelligence enthusiasts, centered on Smart Medical University.

In addition, in September 2022, prior to the International Congress of Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences, the participants of the congress will compete against each other to receive grants.

It is worth mentioning that this program will be implemented in line with the goals of the Artificial Intelligence Excellence Program in Medical Sciences to expand the knowledge and capabilities of the country's medical community.
