An international webinar on Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open and Distance Learning (ODL) was hosted by the International Affairs Office of Smart University of Medical Sciences (SMUMS) in collaboration with International Medical University (IMU) Malaysia and international organizations ECOSF and CINVU on February 16, 2025. The event attracted a wide audience and focused on the role of OER in enhancing digital learning and fostering innovation in distance education.

The webinar was moderated by Dr. Seyed Ahmad Ahmadi, Vice chancellor for International Affairs at SMUMS, alongside Prof. Dr. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of ECOSF.

 keynote presentation was delivered by Hasnain Zafar Baloch, Senior E-Learning Manager and Coordinator of Educational Modules at IMU Malaysia. He shared insights into the growing importance of OER, best practices for its implementation, and the challenges institutions face in integrating open-access resources into their learning ecosystems.
