Preface

Artificial intelligence is a field that has captivated the attention and interest of students and young researchers in recent years. The increasing application of intelligent gadgets on the one hand and the appearance of artificial intelligence discourse in politicians' language have magnified this interest and attention. In the meantime, the Committee on Artificial Intelligence Advancement in Medical Sciences, aligned with the implementation of AIMS policies and programs, strives to promote its programs among medical sciences students across the country to familiarize students and researchers, clinical and laboratory sciences with digital technologies. Autumn Schools on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences is one of the programs that aim to provide the necessary setting to inspire students and enthusiasts. Since one of the main policies of the AIMS program is the utilization of potentials and decentralization of offered programs, the second series of the Autumn Schools on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences is designed by the Smart University of Medical Sciences as the representative of the AIMS advancement program and participation of five of the prestigious and leading universities of the country and collaboration of top professors in specific fields, focusing particularly on practical implementation in Python and R.

Also, one of the innovative and distinguishing features of this program would be the AIMS science and technology festival for students organized by the Incubator Center for New Health Technologies following the autumn schools. This festival will take place in December, along with school participants’ evaluation, it provides the opportunity for student teams from all over the country to connect and compete. The winners of this festival will attend the Student Corner at the first International Congress on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences, and they will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the congress. In addition, based on the mission of the AIMS advancement program, financial support and special facilities will be provided for the nominated projects and plans.

Lastly, it should be pointed out that since the programs of these schools are student levels designed, the ultimate goal would be to familiarize students and researchers with the current state of artificial intelligence and its applications in the healthcare system and to prepare them to participate in national and international congresses, competitions and events. It is hoped that by holding such events and the participation of other universities in organizing these schools in upcoming seasons, a great step will be taken to achieve the objectives of the Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences Advancement Program to familiarize people with this subject better.
