The 4th General Assembly of the Network of Universities of the Islamic World (CINVU) was held on Tuesday, February 6, with the participation of over 200 domestic and international guests, including scholars, scientists, university presidents, and representatives of educational institutions from Islamic countries, both in-person and virtually.

This two-day event provided a platform for discussions on the future of education and research in the Islamic world. On the sidelines of the assembly, an exhibition showcasing the scientific and technological achievements of Islamic countries was held, along with the unveiling of CINVU Plus, the first academic super-application in the Islamic world.

As a member of CINVU, the Smart University of Medical Sciences (SMUMS) played an active role in the event. Dr. Seyed Ahmad Ahmadi, Vice President for International Affairs at SMUMS, delivered a speech highlighting the university’s achievements in distance education and artificial intelligence. He elaborated on the role of new technologies in scientific networking, the development of AI in medical education, attracting international students, and strategies for enhancing inter-university collaborations.

Key topics of the assembly included the establishment of the first international smart university, the development of evaluation and accreditation processes for education in Islamic universities, the approval of CINVU’s biennial program and budget, and the election of the executive committee.

Given CINVU’s role in fostering cooperation among universities in Islamic countries, this assembly is expected to be a significant step toward enhancing educational and research collaborations and improving the quality of education across the Islamic world.
