SMUMS_ECOSF to Expand Cooperation on Scientific and International Exchange

Dr. Seyed Ahmad Ahmadi, deputy of international affairs, and prof. Dr. Seyed Komail Tayebi, president of the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF), met to discuss executive assistance for enhancing scientific and international interactions. Dr. Noushin Kohan, director of the SMUMS EDC, and Dr. Hanieh Zehtab, head of infrastructure affairs, both attended the meeting on Tuesday, September 28.

During the discussion, Prof. Tayebi highlighted several health science academic and research projects and emphasized the potential for increasing international scientific cooperation.Following that, Dr. Ahmadi briefly mentioned SMUMS contributions to e-learning, AI, and medical education in the country. The key areas of international cooperation with ECO members were also covered by him. Additionally, he expressed a desire to foster collaboration in promoting student exchange and international connections.

The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was first founded in 1985 with the participation of three countries: Iran, Turkey, and Pakistan. Its objective was to raise the standards of living for local residents. Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan joined as a group in 1992.

The ECOSF is one of the specialized agencies of the International Economic Cooperation Organization, which has its main office in Islamabad, Pakistan. The foundation's mission is to advance technical and scientific research with the ultimate objective of enhancing the social and economic conditions in 10 different nations.
