The mission of the Steering Council of the Artificial Intelligence Committee

The Steering Council of the Artificial Intelligence Committee is accountable for defining the policies of the Artificial Intelligence Advancement program in the following areas and supervising its implementation:

1. Measures regarding educational promotion programs

2. Measures regarding research programs

3. Measures regarding healthcare programs

Furthermore, an executive committee including a group of distinguished professors of the country's universities has been formed and its mission is to develop operational plans for Artificial Intelligence advancement and monitor its implementation.

Artificial Intelligence committee tasks since its formation:

1. Defining the strategies for Artificial Intelligence Advancement in Medical Sciences and composing the Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences Advancement Program document (AIMS).

2. Authorization of holding the first international congress on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences (AIMS2022)

3. Identification of all legal stakeholders inside and outside the country and formation of the relevant databases

4. Designing and authorization of the National Bioinformatics Network plan (IRNBioAIMS) in order to create the infrastructure for gathering and exploiting medical data

5. Designing and authorization of the Iranian Health Metaverse National Project (IRNH-METAVERSE)

6. Funding of university research projects regarding artificial intelligence in a scholarly format

7. Holding regular weekly and monthly programs in order to promote Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences discourse

8. Planning and authorization of Artificial Intelligence Summer School in Medical Sciences

9. Establishment of the incubator center for the smart health technologies  

The strategic council meetings are held quarterly and the executive committee meetings are held monthly at the Smart University of Medical Sciences.
